Little Scientists
Little Scientists
What we are learning?
Dear Parents,
We hope you are having a good week. We continue learning and having so much
fun in our Summer Camp. This week they will learn to be little Scientist. They
will explore science, participate in experiments and discuss about the
materials a scientist use for work.
·
On Monday children will get to explore how
objects float and sink, how we can make a color mix, and how to create prints
using plastic bottles.
·
On Tuesday children will participate in puppet
play and read stories regarding friends and family. Children will also participate in experiments
with colors and create a rainbow using chalk.
·
On Wednesday children will participate in
experiments with plants and flowers and paint using scientific droppers.
·
On Thursday, children will participate in
magnetic experiment and create geometric shapes. To keep strengthening motor
skills, children will use blocks and balls to draw a number on the floor.
·
And on Friday, children will classify and group
objects by their shape, make homemade dough and create shapes. Through the week
we will keep reviewing words, syllables and sounds.
We would like to thank you for letting us play such an important role in
your child’s life and we hope you have a great weekend.

glasses and mismatched socks.
·
Always keep in your child’s cubby a summer hat.
·
Have your child wear swimsuit, swim diapers and
water shoes for Splash Day.
·
Make sure to send a towel and a fabric tote bag
for wet items. Label and pack all these items in the tote bag.
Friendly Reminders
·
Remember your child to wash his/her hands when
entering the classroom and before leaving the school. This is the best way to
prevent illnesses.
·
Make sure to bring your child on time so he/she
can participate in circle time. This activity starts at 8:45am and will
stimulate and strengthen skills in all areas.
·
Read your child’s journal, blogs and Friday
Newsletter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in case you have any comment
or any question about your child’s development or any notes/comments made in
your child’s journal.
·
Avoid bringing your child with items that can
cause distraction such as toys, necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc. This is
needed to help him/her concentrate in the scheduled activities at school.
·
Label all your child’s clothing and items and
make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to
weather in his/her cubby.
·
Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and
just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
·
Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays
for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
·
Make sure to have enough pull-ups or diapers in
the cubby for the day, if your child has not been potty-trained yet.
·
Label all bottles and food that you bring to
preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared
and drop it in the kitchen. Please keep in mind we are a nut free environment.
·
Take home the homework blue folder in your
child’s cubby and take one or 2 paper sheets from the container that are next
to the entrance of the classroom. Homework should be returned by Tuesday and do
not forget to bring the homework folder back on Monday.
·
Do not bring your child to school if the child
has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.
·
Apply sunscreen to your child every morning.
·
Make sure to keep in your child’s cubby a pair
of glasses and a summer hat.
·
Sunscreen and mosquito repellent are important
to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito
bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires
planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child,
make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when
sunscreen and mosquito repellent should be applied and be sure to supply the
sunscreen and mosquito repellent, label the bottles with your child's name and
place them in a tote bag.
·
Have your child wear swimsuit, splashers or swim
diapers and water shoes for Splash Day. Make sure to send a towel and a tote
bag for wet items. Label and pack all these items in the tote bag.
