Animals' Review

Classroom: Ositos A & B
Blog Theme: Annual Review
Week: From 06/11/2018 to 06/15/2018

What we are learning?

Dear Parents,
We hope you all have a wonderful week. This is our last week of reviewing what we have learnt during the school year. This week children will continue learning about insects. Children will continue developing an understanding of insects such as bees, ants, butterflies, spiders, etc. through games, play, story books and visual flashcards. They will also review insect characteristics and will identify each type of insect that they have learnt and will explore and discover the stages of metamorphosis in butterflies.

We have also scheduled other exciting activities, so children can continue acquiring more knowledge through fun experiences. Each one of these activities will help to continue strengthening gross and fine motor skills, language and socio-emotional skills.

Thank you for letting us play such an important role in your child’s life and we hope you have a great weekend.

Holidays & Upcoming Events
· Father’s Day Celebration on Thursday June 14th, 2018.
· School Last Day on Friday June 15th, 2018. Early Release at 12:30 pm.
· Summer Camp First Day on Monday June 18th, 2018.

Friendly Reminders

· Remember your child to wash his/her hands when entering the classroom and before leaving the school. This is the best way to prevent illnesses.
· Make sure to bring your child on time so he/she can participate in circle time. This activity starts at 8:45am and will stimulate and strengthen skills in all areas.
· Read your child’s journal, blogs and Friday Newsletter. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us in case you have any comment or any question about your child’s development or any notes/comments made in your child’s journal.
· Avoid bringing your child with items that can cause distraction such as toys, necklaces, bracelets, watches, etc. This is needed to help him/her concentrate in the scheduled activities at school.
· Label all your child’s clothing and items and make sure that your child has extra set of clothing that is appropriate to weather in his/her cubby.
· Make sure to remove clothing from the cubby and just leave one set of clothing and a blanket for nap time.
· Make sure to take the blanket home on Fridays for laundry and bring it back on Monday.
· Make sure to have enough pull-ups or diapers in the cubby for the day, if your child has not been potty-trained yet.
· Label all bottles and food that you bring to preschool for your child with your child’s name and the date it was prepared and drop it in the kitchen. Please keep in mind we are a nut free environment.
· Take home the homework blue folder in your child’s cubby and take one or 2 paper sheets from the container that are next to the entrance of the classroom. Homework should be returned by Tuesday and do not forget to bring the homework folder back on Monday.
· Do not bring your child to school if the child has a fever of over 101F or any contagious conditions.
· Apply sunscreen to your child every morning.
· Make sure to keep in your child’s cubby a pair of glasses and a summer hat.
· Sunscreen and mosquito repellant are important to protect your child because he/she is very susceptible to sunburn/mosquito bites. Yet applying sunscreen and mosquito repellent to your child requires planning. If sunscreen and mosquito repellent must be applied to your child, make sure to fill out an administration or authorization form specifying when sunscreen and mosquito repellent should be applied and be sure to supply the sunscreen and mosquito repellant, label the bottles with your child's name and place them in a tote bag.
